I'd already ripped the files to mp3 though. I told them to jam it unless they agreed to leave me alone. There was no way I was going to "cooperate" with them only to find out that it was all being used as evidence against ME Blah blah blah consulting with IP attorney who basically told me that if I shut down the ftp server, I'd pretty much make their day and they'd do one of two things - either thank me for being so cooperative or they'd ignore me and hope that I'd keep worrying that they were coming after me at any moment. They did the latter. They sent me a letter several weeks later that basically said that if I agreed to send the files and as long as they didn't hear or find out that I was still distributing the music they'd leave me along. So I sent them a copy of the mp3s (*a* copy, not *the* copy) and haven't heard from them since. NO idea how they found out or why they were under the impression that I had some kind of massive "manufacturing" deal going on. -----Original Message----- From: Joe Earles [mailto:earles@attbi.com] Sent: Monday, July 15, 2002 6:02 PM To: The New Improved Less Lame List Subject: Re: [ Creed Discuss ] How the FUCK is it that I ended up into Creed That still begs the question of how they found out about it. I don't *THINK* that comes up in a web search. Did they do anything besides demand your hard drive? And did you ever get it back? I don't recall there being an ending to this story... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debbi" To: "'The New Improved Less Lame List'" Sent: Monday, July 15, 2002 8:25 PM Subject: RE: [ Creed Discuss ] How the FUCK is it that I ended up into Creed > It was the attorney for Fishco.
